Scream was founded in Mayfair, London in 2006 with a programme rooted in Pop and Urban Art.

From its beginnings in the heart of Mayfair — a few streets from the auction houses and historic dealers that shaped the London art trade — Scream set out to give Pop and Urban Art the same seriousness of presentation. The gallery has staged over one hundred exhibitions across painting, print, photography and sculpture, and continues to work from London today.

The curatorial focus has remained consistent: work that draws on mass culture, the street and the image economy, made with rigour and material ambition. Over the years the programme has included work by Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, Gavin Turk, the Chapman Brothers, Pakpoom Silaphan, Ronnie Wood, Greg Miller and LG White, alongside many others.

Scream places equal weight on established names and artists early in their careers, showing them side by side rather than in separate tiers. Representation here means long-term work with an artist: studio visits, editions, catalogues and placement with collectors and institutions who will live with the work.
